Next in our series on fire prevention is some of the learnings from our old-style thermal insulation blanket design. The goal of thermal blankets is to separate the fuel and heat source of the fire triangle equation.
These attributes of the old-style design have since been rectified:
- Liquid absorbed in outer cloth
- Multiple blanket pieces
- Difficult to install and remove
- Fibreglass product itchy when handled
- Brittle and breaks down with heat/age
- Difficult and tedious tie-wire fastening
- Hot surfaces exposed at joins and connections
Next we’ll discuss our new and current range of thermal insulation blankets and highlight the benefits provided by these superior products.
